The Ibero-American Journal of Therapeutic Jurisprudence is a specialized publication dedicated to the study of Law as a therapeutic agent, promoting its analysis, research, practice, and discussion from a necessarily interdisciplinary perspective.
Therapeutic Jurisprudence critically examines the therapeutic and anti-therapeutic effects of both legal rules and procedures and the practices and techniques employed by various legal actors. In this regard, it does not confine itself to theoretical reflection, but rather focuses on the real impact that the legal system has on people's emotional and psychological well-being. This approach seeks to understand Law in a more enriching way, centered on the human dimension; therefore, it contributes to the humanization of the Law.
Within this context, the Ibero-American Journal of Therapeutic Jurisprudence holds a clear conviction: the need to strengthen the development of Therapeutic Jurisprudence on the basis of sound scientific evidence. It is likewise essential to generate empirical knowledge that makes it possible to assess which legal practices effectively contribute to people's well-being, which may prove harmful, and how more effective interventions can be designed. The incorporation of rigorous research methodologies is, therefore, a fundamental pillar for the consolidation of this field.
The complexity of the phenomena addressed by the Therapeutic Jurisprudence demands a multidisciplinary approach. The dialogue between the Behavioral Sciences and the Law, together with other disciplines, not only enriches the analysis but also makes it possible to develop more comprehensive responses, tailored to the reality and needs of each individual who comes into contact with the Law.
The Ibero-American Journal of Therapeutic Jurisprudence thus constitutes a meeting point among different bodies of knowledge, where diverse perspectives converge to better understand the impact of the legal system on people.
Its principal aim is to provide a space for academic and professional exchange in which scientific advances in the field, practical experiences, and concrete proposals can be shared. The Journal seeks to foster the discussion of theoretical arguments, the dissemination of practical applications, and the exploration of aspects that have not yet been sufficiently studied, thereby contributing to the development and consolidation of Therapeutic Jurisprudence, particularly in the Ibero-American context.
In sum, the Ibero-American Journal of Therapeutic Jurisprudence aspires to become a benchmark for the generation and dissemination of evidence-based knowledge, promoting a form of Law that reflects deeply on its effects and repercussions, in pursuit of its commitment to achieving the greatest integral well-being of individuals.
